Auditory Discrimination Games

Introduction to syllables, using the clapping method for one-, two-, and three-syllable words. Ages 4+.

Auditory discrimination activity for R vs the W and L sounds. Ages 7+.

Similar to the card game, this is a listening game, not a reading game. Students must decide which sound they hear at the beginning of words, so how a word is spelled is irrelevant. This is a phonological awareness pre-reading skill. Ages 5+.
